Visit St. Lawrence Market web site to learn more about the market.

CTGA arranges many visits and tours for our own members to important sites around our city. This “Events Program” helps keep us up-to-date on the attractions of our city making us better tour guides for our public.

Our “Founder’s Day Event” for 2016 was a visit to Toronto’s well-known St. Lawrence Market.  The market is just about as old as the city itself and is very much part of our history. It has won recognition from “market enthusiasts” around the world.

Their museum technician Michael gave a good historical talk in the gallery complemented by a PowerPoint presentation that lasted 45 minutes and stirred up many questions. His talk included considerable historic information about Toronto as well as the Market. It was very informative and included many excellent archive photos.

The highlight was definitely the wonderful High Tea the St. Lawrence Market Kitchen served us on beautifully set tables, with precious china tea cups, two types of teas and a mouth-watering selection of the foods of the market.
