  • A Toronto history fan since I was a pre-teen when I studied Toronto's history with fellow pre-teens and we produced a booklet called Toronto In A Nutshell. It featured stories, poems and drawings of historic sites in the city—by kids, for kids and is still available in the Reference department at the Toronto Reference Library.
  • Since 2006, I've presented over twenty different tours from High Park to Cabbagetown and Lawrence Park to Front Street. I love Toronto neighbourhoods.
  • Recently learned and presented another guide's tour script and route in under 24 hours.
  • Certificate achieved: Local Tour Guide Program, George Brown College, 2005.
  • Successfully completed the "History of Toronto Architecture" course at Ryerson, 2003, during which I researched and wrote a 20-page essay on the architectural history of Toronto's fire halls.
  • In my other career I've focused on educating and informing software users and math students, writing and editing materials.
My specialty is Toronto's history. Born here and never left!

My walk "Yonge Street Architecture" was ranked #1 most popular Heritage Toronto Walk in the Toronto Star (14 August, 2017, online edition).

You can drop me anywhere from Bloor South to the lake, High Park to the Beaches, plus up Yonge Street to Hogg’s Hollow and I'll have stories and trivia to tell.

I get to the “Why” of how things came to be, why they were built as they were and when they were. My experience with Jane's Walks has given me an appreciation for urban layout.

Leading volunteer walks for Heritage Toronto, I've managed groups anywhere from one to 90 walkers. I have developed and led customized tours. I have my own portable PA system which serves up to 25 people.

I'm also a member of Toronto's Choir! Choir! Choir!, whose recordings have gone viral on YouTube. Many out-of-town visitors have dropped in for their weekly Tuesday or Wednesday sessions in a local pub. I'd LOVE to take you to along and show you the ropes.
